Masu Sudoku

Privacy policy

Effective 3 November 2026 · Applies to the Masu Sudoku app for iPhone and iPad.

In short. Masu has no accounts and no servers. Scanning happens on your device, and your puzzles, photos and stats never leave it. The app is free and shows ads from Google AdMob. Google collects some device and usage data to deliver and measure those ads, and only uses it for personalised ads if you agree.

Who is responsible

Masu Sudoku is made by Michelangelo Amoruso Manzari, an independent developer based in Rome, Italy ("I", "me"). I am the data controller for this app. Contact: michelangeloam98@gmail.com.

What the app does with data

Camera and photos

When you scan, camera frames are processed in your device's memory to find the grid and read the digits. When you import a photo, iOS gives the app only the picture you select. Images are never saved by the app and never uploaded.

Games, stats and settings

Your current game, statistics, streaks and settings are stored only on your device, inside the app's private storage. I never receive them. They are deleted when you delete the app, and they may be included in your own iCloud or computer backups.

Game Center

If you are signed in to Game Center, your scores and achievements are sent to Apple. That processing is governed by Apple's privacy policy.

Advertising (Google AdMob)

The app uses the Google Mobile Ads SDK and Google's User Messaging Platform, provided by Google Ireland Limited and Google LLC. To show ads, prevent fraud and measure performance, the SDK may collect:

DataExamplesPurpose
Device identifiersAdvertising identifier (IDFA, only if you allow tracking), identifier for vendorAdvertising, frequency capping, measurement
Coarse locationApproximate location derived from your IP addressAdvertising, fraud prevention
Usage and advertising dataAds shown, taps, app launches, video viewsAdvertising, analytics
DiagnosticsCrash logs, performance (launch time, hangs)Fixing problems, analytics

In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, Google's consent message (IAB Transparency & Consent Framework) asks for your choices before ads use your data for personalisation. On iOS, Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt asks before the advertising identifier can be used. If you decline, you'll still see ads, which may be less relevant; some data, such as your IP address, is still processed to deliver them and to prevent fraud. Legal bases (GDPR). Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)) for personalised advertising and for accessing information on your device. Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)) in funding a free app with non-personalised ads and in preventing ad fraud.

What I collect

Nothing. I don't run analytics, I have no server, and I can't see who uses the app. If you email me, I use your message only to reply, and delete it when it's no longer needed.

Your choices and rights

International transfers

Google may process data outside your country, including in the United States, under safeguards such as the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and Standard Contractual Clauses.

Children

Masu is a general-audience puzzle game and is not directed at children under 13. Ads are restricted by a maximum ad-content rating chosen for a general audience. I don't knowingly collect personal data from children.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new effective date.
